Volleyball World has announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Gerflor, keeping the sports flooring specialist in place as a supplier of volleyball flooring for premier international events. The renewed agreement also expands the collaboration for the first time to include Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) events, adding a new layer of reach to a partnership that has been in place for years.
The deal matters because competition flooring is a core part of athlete performance and safety at the top level, and the renewal ensures continuity across Volleyball World’s biggest indoor properties while widening the footprint to additional events in Asia.
What the renewed agreement covers
Under the renewed partnership, Gerflor will continue to supply “best-in-class volleyball flooring” for key indoor volleyball competitions. Volleyball World said the agreement continues to encompass major events including the annual Volleyball Nations League (VNL) and the biennial FIVB Volleyball World Championships.
In a notable update, Volleyball World confirmed that the partnership has now been expanded to include AVC events for the first time. The extension broadens Gerflor’s presence across the international calendar beyond the competitions already covered under the existing relationship.
Volleyball World also stated that Gerflor will continue to support projects aimed at helping national teams around the world reach their full potential.
Volleyball World: focus on conditions for elite performance
Volleyball World Head of Sponsorship Oliver Clarke said the organization was pleased to continue the collaboration with a partner that has been involved with volleyball for two decades.
“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Gerflor, a trusted partner of volleyball for 20 years now. This renewal ensures that athletes competing at our events have access to the best-in-class flooring and optimal conditions to perform at the highest level,” Clarke commented.
Gerflor: commitment to innovation and sustainability
Gerflor Sports Flooring Director Pierre Lienhard said renewing and extending the partnership was evidence of the company’s long-term commitment to “technical excellence and responsible innovation.”
Lienhard also pointed to Gerflor’s selection for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 as a marker of its standing in performance and sustainability. He added that Gerflor thanked Volleyball World for supporting an initiative to reinstall and reuse all Olympic courts for the benefit of local clubs and communities across France.
Gerflor’s role in volleyball flooring since 2005
Volleyball World noted that Gerflor has been a trusted flooring provider for FIVB events since 2005, with playing surfaces that are “endorsed and requested by players and coaches alike.” The company’s Taraflex® sports flooring has been positioned as a long-running standard for athlete safety, shock absorption, and performance.
The announcement also highlighted an evolution in materials, stating that more than 80% of Taraflex® material content is now biosourced, recycled, or mineral-based, reflecting an effort to combine elite-level playability with a lower environmental impact.
With the renewal now confirmed and the scope widened to include AVC events, the partnership continues to tie Volleyball World’s major indoor competitions to a consistent flooring standard, while also emphasizing innovation and athlete safety as key priorities going forward.
