76ers edge Pacers in OT as Kaluma drops 34 on Day 3

Philadelphia survived Indiana in overtime while Arthur Kaluma powered the Lakers and Seth Lundy led the Raptors on a busy Day 3 in Las Vegas

The 2026 NBA Summer League’s Day 3 slate in Las Vegas delivered a little of everything, highlighted by Labaron Philon and the Philadelphia 76ers holding off a furious Indiana Pacers comeback to win in overtime and move to 2-0. Later, Arthur Kaluma posted the highest-scoring performance of the day with 34 points as the Los Angeles Lakers pulled away from the Dallas Mavericks in the second half.

Across Saturday’s action, Orlando opened the day by holding on against Miami, New Orleans closed with a late surge to beat Charlotte, San Antonio clamped down on New York, Denver pulled away late versus Minnesota, Atlanta rallied past Brooklyn, Toronto handled Houston behind a barrage of 3s, and the Lakers finished the night with a comfortable win.

Day 3 results and top performers

Magic over Heat: Orlando held on to defeat Miami as Izaiyah Nelson denied Jahmir Young’s game-tying 3-point attempt with seven seconds remaining. Colin Castleton, Jase Richardson and Lester Quinones scored 15 points apiece for the Magic, while Trevor Keels (32 points) and Young (27) carried the scoring for the Heat.

Pelicans over Hornets: New Orleans closed on a 15-2 run to beat Charlotte, led by Hunter Dickinson’s 21 points. The Pelicans completed an 18-point comeback and held the Hornets to 15 fourth-quarter points. Liam McNeeley scored 17 for Charlotte.

76ers over Pacers (OT): Philon (24 points, six assists) and Johni Broome (23 points, 11 rebounds) led Philadelphia as it survived Indiana’s rally and dominated overtime. Matt Rogers added 17 points on 7-for-8 shooting with three 3-pointers. For the Pacers, Jalen Slawson scored 26 and Braden Smith finished with 16 points and five assists.

Spurs over Knicks: San Antonio earned its first win of the summer by holding New York to 26.5% shooting. Carter Bryant scored 19 for the Spurs, while Tyler Nickel led the Knicks with 16 points and four 3-pointers. New York scored more than 12 points in only one quarter (20 in the third).

Nuggets over Timberwolves: Denver seized control with a 28-10 run in the fourth quarter. KJ Simpson posted 19 points and four assists with a +21, while Osayi Ofiso delivered 13 points and five rebounds in just 6:47 of action.

Hawks over Nets: Atlanta came back to beat Brooklyn, fueled by a 40-point advantage in bench points. Kobe Johnson scored 17, and Kingston Flemings contributed nine points, seven rebounds and five assists. The Nets got 20 points apiece from Chaney Johnson (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Danny Wolf (20), but Brooklyn’s bench produced eight points compared to 48 for Atlanta.

Raptors over Rockets: Seth Lundy scored 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting and hit six 3-pointers as Toronto beat Houston to even its record at 1-1. Tyreke Key added 19 for the Raptors, while Tristen Newton scored 18 for the Rockets. Toronto won the paint 34-22 in points in the paint.

Lakers over Mavericks, 91-70: Kaluma finished with 34 points, five rebounds and six 3-pointers as Los Angeles controlled the second half and won comfortably. Ryan Nembhard led Dallas with 12 points and five assists, and Morez Johnson Jr. added 10 points and four blocks.

How 76ers-Pacers turned into overtime

Philadelphia appeared in control early, leading 59-46 at halftime behind Broome (17 points, seven rebounds) and Philon (13 points). The Sixers shot 55% as a team in the first half, while Indiana had no player in double figures at the break.

The Pacers chipped away in the second half, with Yuki Kawamura scoring 12 points and helping cut into the deficit as the 76ers led 80-67 after three. Indiana’s push continued late, and Braden Smith’s two free throws tied the game at 93 to force overtime after the Pacers rallied from 24 down. Philon couldn’t get a clean look on a potential game-winning jumper at the end of regulation.

In overtime, Philadelphia steadied itself to finish the job and improve to 2-0. The Sixers’ volume and physicality showed up in the team totals: Philadelphia took 85 shots to Indiana’s 63, out-rebounded the Pacers 47-31, and committed two fewer turnovers.

Kaluma’s 34 closes the night as Lakers pull away

The Lakers and Mavericks were locked in early, with Los Angeles leading 47-44 at halftime in a first half that featured 13 lead changes and seven ties. Kaluma had 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting at the break as both teams shot 50% or better from the field.

After the break, the Lakers took control and never let go, leading by as many as 27 on the way to a 91-70 win. Los Angeles posted a 42-24 edge in points in the paint and a 30-14 advantage in points off turnovers, turning a tight first half into a comfortable finish to cap Day 3 in Las Vegas.
