The Golden State Warriors improved to 2-0 in Las Vegas on Sunday with a 104-79 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2026 NBA Summer League, using balanced scoring and transition pressure to pull away after a tight opening stretch.
After a back-and-forth first frame, Golden State created separation early and never let up, building a 53-38 halftime lead and finishing with a 31-point fourth quarter to close out the comfortable victory.
Balanced Warriors attack sets the tone early
First-round pick Yaxel Lendeborg, the No. 11 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, led the way with 14 points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals as six Warriors reached double figures. Lendeborg was one of three Golden State players to score 14 points, joined by Nick Boyd (two rebounds, two assists) and Lachlan Olbrich (four rebounds, three steals).
The Warriors began to take control after the opening minutes. Following that early back-and-forth, Golden State posted a 27-16 edge after 10 minutes of action, setting up the rest of the game. The lead grew to 53-38 by halftime, and Golden State maintained its pace through the final horn, punctuating the night with 31 points in the fourth quarter.
Transition play was a major separator. The Warriors more than tripled the Thunder in fast-break points, 19-6, and that advantage was fueled by activity on the defensive end. Golden State finished with a 10-3 edge in steals, repeatedly turning possessions into runouts and quick scoring chances.
Golden State also leaned into volume from deep, going 15-for-41 (36.6 percent) from 3-point range. With multiple players contributing, the Warriors were able to keep the pressure on throughout the game and avoid any prolonged scoring droughts.
Support scoring helped round out the performance. Taran Armstrong added 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists, while Lajae Jones contributed 10 points and six rebounds off the bench. Chance McMillian also scored 10 points off the bench and grabbed three rebounds, giving Golden State additional production beyond the trio of 14-point scorers.
For Oklahoma City, the No. 16 overall pick scored 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting. The Thunder also got a near double-double from the No. 12 overall pick, who finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Payton Sandfort provided a lift off the bench with 11 points.
What’s next for both teams in Las Vegas
Both teams are back in action Tuesday as Summer League play continues. The Warriors (2-0) will face the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Thunder (0-2) will take on the Denver Nuggets.
