Asian Games 2026 India Schedule: Kabaddi Finals on September 26

India face a packed Asian Games 2026 programme on September 26, led by men’s and women’s kabaddi finals against Iran and three squash semifinals with places in gold-medal matches at stake. Athletics, badminton, table tennis, shooting, surfing and several other sports also feature across the day’s schedule.

The women’s kabaddi team meet Iran in the team final at 9:30 AM, before the men’s team take on the same opposition in their gold-medal match at 2:30 PM. Both Indian kabaddi teams entered their respective finals unbeaten, making the two contests the headline events of the day for India.

Kabaddi and squash lead India’s medal schedule

Squash begins early, with Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar scheduled to play Hong Kong’s Lee-Tang pair in the mixed doubles semifinals at 8:30 AM. Anahat Singh then faces Japan’s S. Watanabe in the women’s singles semifinal at 10:30 AM.

Abhay Singh completes India’s squash semifinal programme when he takes on Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan in the men’s singles last four at 11:15 AM. The three Indian combinations are competing for progression to the gold-medal matches, placing squash alongside kabaddi among the key medal opportunities on the schedule.

Badminton has four Indian singles players listed in Round of 32 action. Lakshya Sen opens against Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew at 6 AM, while Unnati Hooda plays Malaysia’s Wong LC at 8 AM. Ayush Shetty meets Kazakhstan’s Makhsut T. at 8:30 AM, and PV Sindhu faces Chinese Taipei’s Chiu PC at 9 AM. Treesa-Gayatri are also scheduled for a women’s doubles Round of 16 match against Japan’s Mayu-Yuki at 11 AM.

In table tennis, Yashaswini Ghorpade plays Japan’s M. Harimoto in the women’s singles Round of 16 at 6:30 AM. Manush Shah’s men’s singles Round of 16 match against China’s L. Shidong is listed as to be announced.

The early programme also includes surfing matches for Kamali Prakash, Sugar Gayen and Sivaraj Babu. Kamali Prakash faces Camille S. of Singapore in women’s shortboard Round 2 at 3:58 AM, Sugar Gayen meets C. Wan-yu of Chinese Taipei at 4:54 AM, and Sivaraj Babu takes on D. Khadir of Iran in men’s shortboard Round 2 at 5:50 AM.

Athletics finals and all-sport programme

Athletics begins with the men’s marathon final at 4 AM and includes the men’s decathlon 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump and 200m across the day. The schedule also features the men’s 200m Round 1 and semifinals, women’s 100m hurdles Round 1, women’s 200m Round 1 and men’s 1500m heats.

Three athletics finals are listed in the evening session: the men’s shot put at 4:30 PM, men’s triple jump at 5:05 PM, women’s 400m at 6:15 PM, men’s 400m at 6:33 PM and women’s 15000m at 6:45 PM.

Elsewhere, India are scheduled in women’s 50m rifle 3P qualification at 6:15 AM and the final at 9:30 AM. Canoeing includes men’s kayak single 500m semifinals and final, plus mixed canoe double and mixed kayak double events. India also have fencing team Round of 16 matches against Hong Kong in women’s foil and the Philippines in men’s sabre.

The schedule lists India against South Korea in an esports puzzle quarterfinal at 6:45 AM, against Japan in Pokemon Unite group-stage action at 10:45 AM, and against Japan in men’s field hockey group-stage play at 1:30 PM. Boxing, archery, sailing and equestrian events round out an extensive September 26 programme.
