Asian Games 2026 India Schedule: Cricket Final on October 3
India will face Pakistan in the men’s cricket final and Malaysia in the men’s hockey final as a packed Asian Games 2026 programme unfolds on October 3. The day also includes medal opportunities in archery, wrestling and sailing, while golf concludes its individual rounds.
The two team finals are the headline events during the final weekend of the Games. India’s cricket side is scheduled to play Pakistan at 10:00 AM, before the men’s hockey team meets Malaysia at 3:30 PM. Both matches offer India the chance to add to a strong run of results on October 2.
India had collected major medals the previous day, including boxing golds for Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal. Sujeet Kalkal won the men’s freestyle 65kg wrestling gold after recovering from a 2-9 deficit to beat Tajikistan’s Abdulmazhid Kudiev 10-9. The women’s hockey team also beat China 1-0 to win India’s first Asian Games gold in the event in 44 years.
Cricket and hockey finals lead India’s October 3 programme
The men’s cricket final against Pakistan is set for 10:00 AM and comes after India reached the title match with Ishan Kishan making an unbeaten 80. Later in the afternoon, India play Malaysia in the men’s hockey final at 3:30 PM.
Before the cricket final, India’s men’s volleyball team faces Thailand in the fifth-sixth place match at 9:30 AM. India’s women’s rugby side is scheduled to play Singapore in the fifth-eighth place fixture at 6:20 AM, followed by the women’s fifth-sixth place match at 1:00 PM.
Golf starts the Indian schedule, with the women’s fourth round at 3:30 AM and the men’s fourth round at 4:25 AM. Pranavi Urs had held the sole lead in the women’s individual competition after Round 3, placing added focus on the final round.
Archery begins at 5:30 AM with the women’s recurve individual quarterfinal between India and South Korea. The women’s semifinals follow at 6:30 AM and the individual medal matches are scheduled for 7:05 AM. In the men’s recurve individual event, Dhiraj faces Amirkhon in a quarterfinal at 9:30 AM, while Neeraj meets Lam at 10:15 AM. The men’s semifinals are listed for 10:30 AM, with medal matches at 11:05 AM.
India had already made history in archery by winning its first Asian Games gold in the women’s recurve team event. Dhiraj Bommadevara and Kumkum Mohod also won mixed recurve silver, making the individual programme another significant part of the day.
Wrestling, sailing and taekwondo add to medal-day focus
Wrestling has a full morning and afternoon schedule. India face China in the men’s freestyle 97kg round of 16 at 7:25 AM and Mongolia in the men’s freestyle 74kg round of 16 at 7:27 AM. The women’s 57kg round of 16 against South Korea is set for 7:53 AM, followed by the women’s 53kg round of 16 against Kazakhstan at 8:05 AM. Aman Sehrawat is scheduled in the men’s freestyle 57kg round of 16 at 8:29 AM.
The wrestling medal bouts in men’s freestyle 57kg, 74kg and 97kg, plus women’s wrestling 53kg and 57kg, are scheduled for 2:30 PM. Taekwondo also features India in the women’s 57kg round of 16 against South Korea at 5:42 AM and the women’s 67+kg round of 16 against Thailand at 6:30 AM, before medal bouts from 11:00 AM.
Sailing medal races include the girls’ dinghy event at 7:10 AM and women’s windsurfing at 8:05 AM. India had earned sailing bronze through Nethra Kumanan on October 2, while the country also secured a men’s quadrant bronze in sepak takraw. With cricket and hockey titles at stake and multiple individual medal events on the programme, October 3 shapes up as another pivotal day for India at the Asian Games.
