Asian Games 2026: India Win 85 Medals in Aichi-Nagoya
India have won 85 medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, collecting 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze medals as the Games approach their conclusion. India’s final place in the overall standings has not yet been confirmed, with Uzbekistan still having equestrian events remaining.
The total makes Aichi-Nagoya India’s second-highest medal haul at an Asian Games. India’s best campaign remains Hangzhou, where the country won 28 gold medals and finished with more than 100 medals overall. In Aichi-Nagoya, the Indian contingent found its biggest overall medal returns in athletics, shooting and archery.
Athletics, shooting and archery lead India’s medal return
Athletics delivered the largest number of Indian medals, with 24 in total: one gold, nine silver and 14 bronze. Shooting followed with 15 medals, made up of three gold, eight silver and four bronze, while archery produced nine medals, including five gold, two silver and two bronze.
Boxing added six medals, with three gold and three bronze, while wrestling also brought six medals through two gold, two silver and two bronze. Squash contributed five medals, including two silver and three bronze. Sailing returned three medals, with one silver and two bronze.
India also secured two gold medals apiece in cricket, hockey and kabaddi. The source lists gold-medal successes for India’s men’s and women’s teams in each of those three sports. Golf contributed one gold and one silver medal, while weightlifting and wushu each added a silver.
Single bronze medals came from badminton, kurash, mixed martial arts, rowing, sepaktakraw, soft tennis and table tennis. The spread of medals across disciplines underlined the breadth of India’s results, even as the final overall order remained subject to the remaining programme.
Among the athletes and teams named in the medal-winners list were Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh in mixed 10m air pistol, Neeru Dhanda in women’s trap, and Kynan Chenai and Dhanda in mixed trap. The shooting list also included Elavenil Valarivan, Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon, Esha Singh, Vidarsa Vinod and the women’s trap team of Dhanda, Manisha Keer and Aashima Ahlawat.
Archery’s listed medal winners included Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Chikitha Taniparthi in the women’s compound team, along with mixed compound pair Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav. The men’s compound team of Jadhav, Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru and Kushal Dalal also featured, as did Kumkum Mohod and Dhiraj Bommadevara in mixed recurve competition.
India await confirmation of final place
China led the Aichi-Nagoya standings with 341 medals, comprising 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze. Japan were second with 83 gold, 95 silver and 91 bronze medals, while South Korea stood third with 39 gold, 43 silver and 68 bronze.
India’s tally included medal-winning entries for athletes across track and field, including Gulveer Singh, Kiran Pahal, Poovamma M.R., Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj. The list also named boxers Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal, wrestlers Sujeet Kalkal and Aman Sehrawat, and golfer Pranavi Urs.
The 85-medal total is therefore the confirmed benchmark for India’s Aichi-Nagoya campaign in the supplied results. The outstanding equestrian events involving Uzbekistan mean the final positioning in the overall medal standings must wait for the programme to be fully completed.
