Lxme Named Indian Women’s League Title Sponsor for 2026-27
Lxme has become the title sponsor of the Indian Women’s League ahead of the 2026-27 season under a multi-year agreement with Capri Sports. The partnership is the first major sponsorship announcement since Capri Sports entered its long-term commercial development and marketing arrangement with the All India Football Federation for the IWL and IWL 2.
The women-focused financial platform will bring its emphasis on financial independence for women into Indian women’s football through the title partnership. Financial terms and the exact length of the agreement have not been disclosed.
The deal adds a new commercial partner as the IWL prepares for its next season, which is scheduled to start on November 13, 2026. Eight clubs are set to contest 56 matches across Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bengaluru, with the campaign due to conclude on January 23, 2027.
A first major sponsorship under Capri Sports’ AIFF arrangement
Capri Sports signed a 15-year agreement with the AIFF in September 2026 to oversee commercial development and marketing for the Indian Women’s League and the second-tier IWL 2. Its responsibilities include attracting brands and investment, building audiences, raising the visibility of clubs and players, and strengthening broadcast and digital engagement.
Lxme’s arrival as title sponsor represents the first major sponsorship milestone under that agreement. The companies have not yet detailed specific activations or programmes that will be delivered as part of the partnership, but both have framed the association around increasing support, visibility and opportunity in women’s football.
Jinisha Sharma, director and promoter of Capri Sports, said the company believes women’s sport requires investment, attention and commercial ambition. “We’ve always believed that women’s sport is good business,” Sharma said. “It needs investment, attention, and the same commercial ambition that has helped build successful sporting properties around the world.”
Sharma added that the partnership brings together businesses committed to supporting women’s sport and helping build the future of Indian women’s football. For Capri Sports, the title deal fits within its wider objective of developing a sustainable commercial ecosystem around the women’s game.
Lxme founder Priti Rathi Gupta said the sponsorship extends the platform’s existing work in women’s financial empowerment into sport. “We see a similar need in sport, where women athletes continue to deserve greater visibility, investment and opportunity,” Gupta said.
The partnership therefore links Lxme’s stated focus on women’s financial independence with the IWL’s commercial development at a time when Capri Sports is beginning its long-term work with the AIFF. While further partnership plans have not been announced, the title sponsorship gives the league a named commercial partner before the new campaign begins.
Eight clubs set for the 2026-27 IWL campaign
Defending champions East Bengal FC will be among the eight teams in the upcoming Indian Women’s League season. They will be joined by Sethu FC, Kickstart FC, Nita Football Academy, Gokulam Kerala FC, Garhwal United FC, HOPS FC and Juba Sangha FC.
The 56-match schedule will be staged across three cities: Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bengaluru. The season’s November 13 start date places the new title partnership at the beginning of a campaign that will run into January 2027.
With Lxme now attached to the competition as title sponsor, the IWL enters the season with its first major sponsorship announcement under Capri Sports’ 15-year AIFF pact. The agreement is intended to support the league’s commercial growth while improving the profile of women’s football, its clubs and its athletes in India.
