Kolkata’s Indian duo of Ankur Bhattacharjee and Ayhika Mukherjee again played a central role, while Goa had to survive a late scare before teenager Syndrela Das delivered in the deciding match. The day also featured the Dream UTT Juniors final, where U Mumba TT won their maiden title.
Kolkata take control early and close out UP 10-5
Kolkata set the tone immediately through Ankur Bhattacharjee, who swept Manav Thakkar 3-0 (11-10, 11-10, 11-3). The opening two games were decided by Golden Point margins, before Ankur cruised through the third to complete a straight-games victory and put Kolkata in front.
The momentum continued in the next match as Zeng Jian beat Swastika Ghosh 2-1 (11-7, 8-11, 11-8), adding further cushion to Kolkata’s tally. With the tie moving into mixed doubles, Ankur and Ayhika Mukherjee maintained their unbeaten record, defeating Ricardo Walther and Swastika Ghosh 2-1 (11-3, 8-11, 11-8). Goa’s afternoon began with a setback as Omar Assar rallied from a game down to hand Abhinandh PB his first singles defeat of the season, winning 2-1 (10-11, 11-5, 11-8).
Bernadette Szocs then turned the tie for Goa with a flawless straight-games victory over Prithika Pavade, 3-0 (11-6, 11-9, 11-5). Pune hit back in mixed doubles as Anirban Ghosh and Diya Chitale beat Alvaro Robles and Syndrela Das 2-1 (11-10, 4-11, 11-6), tightening the contest.
The pressure increased on Goa after Snehit Suravajjula edged Alvaro Robles 2-1 (2-11, 11-8, 11-10), leaving the unbeaten side needing a result in the final match. In the decider, 16-year-old Syndrela Das claimed the opening game before Diya Chitale forced a third. Das responded with a composed 11-8 in the deciding game to win 2-1 (11-7, 11-7, 11-8) and clinch the tie for Goa.

Somdev Sengupta laid the foundation with victory in the boys’ singles, then partnered Ahona Ray to win the mixed doubles. Ahona sealed U Mumba’s maiden Dream UTT Juniors title with victory in the girls’ singles.
