Goncalo Ramos Scores First Serie A Goal in Milan Win

Goncalo Ramos scored his first Serie A goal as AC Milan defeated Venezia 2-0 at San Siro on Friday, giving the hosts a second consecutive league win to open the season. The Portuguese forward broke the deadlock in the 69th minute with a flashing drive from a tight angle, before Venezia defender Redouane Halhal turned the ball into his own net late on.

The result followed Milan’s 2-1 opening-weekend victory away to Torino and made their first home outing of the campaign a successful one. Venezia remained within reach of a point until the closing stages, but Milan secured the win in the 89th minute. Substitute Ardon Jashari began the move with a break from the halfway line before shooting from the edge of the area. His attempt came off the Venezia goalkeeper, then struck the knee of the onrushing Halhal and flew into the net.

Late own goal confirms Milan’s home victory

Halhal’s own goal made the final score 2-0 and removed any late uncertainty for Milan. Ramos’ 69th-minute finish had put the hosts ahead, while the 89th-minute sequence involving Jashari, the Venezia goalkeeper and Halhal completed the scoring.

The victory matters early in a season in which Milan are rebuilding under Amorim after missing Champions League qualification on the final day of last season. Two league wins from their opening two matches provide a positive start, while Ramos’ first Serie A goal gives the club an early return from a prominent summer acquisition.
