Ferrari Reveal Schumacher Tribute Livery for Monza GP

Ferrari have unveiled a special Michael Schumacher-inspired livery for the SF-26 ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, where Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will race the revised design. The Scuderia’s home-race look also follows the presentation of Schumacher-themed race suits for its two drivers.

The tribute is built around Schumacher’s defining years with Ferrari and arrives during a significant anniversary period for the team and the seven-time world champion. Schumacher made his Ferrari debut in 1996 and completed his final season with the Maranello outfit 20 years ago.

Schumacher tribute takes centre stage at Monza

Ferrari’s Monza livery uses a full red design, with white across the top graded into red. Seven white stars appear on the nose of the car, representing Schumacher’s seven world titles. Five of those championships came with Ferrari during his run of consecutive titles from 2000 to 2004.

The design also includes an encrypted Michael Schumacher logo. Ferrari described the new look on social media as a livery inspired by Schumacher’s lasting impact on the team as race week approaches in Italy.

Hamilton and Leclerc will wear special race suits to complement the SF-26’s appearance. The kits feature seven stars on the back, white striping down the front and Schumacher’s personal logo. The combined car and race-suit presentation makes the tribute a central part of Ferrari’s Monza weekend.

Schumacher raced for Ferrari from 1996 to 2006 after winning his first two world titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995. He went on to become a key figure in Ferrari’s era of success, winning five straight championships from 2000 through 2004. His total of seven Formula 1 titles remains the joint-most in the sport, with Hamilton later matching the record.

Ferrari continue Monza tradition of special designs

The Italian Grand Prix has become a regular occasion for Ferrari to introduce a different visual identity for its home event. The team used yellow and black accents on the F1-75 at Monza in 2022 to mark Ferrari’s 75th anniversary.

In 2023, Ferrari ran a Monza design inspired by its Le Mans-winning 499P. The team did not use a one-off design for the 2024 Italian Grand Prix, but the approach returned in 2025 with a retro SF-25 livery inspired by the 312T. That car paid tribute to Niki Lauda’s first title with Ferrari, 50 years on.

For 2026, Ferrari have chosen to focus on Schumacher’s history with the team. The timing recognises 30 years since his first Ferrari season and two decades since his final campaign for the Scuderia. The seven stars, the red-and-white colour treatment and the special driver suits all point directly to that legacy.

The Monza GP will therefore see Ferrari’s current driver pairing carry a design linked to one of the team’s most successful periods. Hamilton and Leclerc are set to race the Schumacher tribute livery at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza as Ferrari prepares for its home grand prix.
