Vaidehee Chaudhari and Maan Kesharwani win Fenesta titles
Vaidehee Chaudhari and Maan Kesharwani were crowned women’s and men’s singles champions at the 2026 Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Saturday.
Top seed Chaudhari defeated Shruti Ahlawat 6-4, 7-5 to claim her third Fenesta Open title, adding to victories in 2022 and 2024. In the men’s final, sixth seed Kesharwani beat third seed Nitin Sinha 6-0, 6-4 to secure his maiden Fenesta Open crown.
The results gave Chaudhari another national title after a tightly contested final, while Kesharwani completed a breakthrough run after having previously exited in the first round in each of his last four Fenesta Open appearances.
Chaudhari holds off Ahlawat for third crown
Chaudhari’s 6-4, 7-5 victory over 20-year-old Ahlawat lasted two hours and 15 minutes. The top seed was made to work for both sets despite establishing 5-3 leads in each.
“I feel so proud. This is my third title so definitely I am very happy right now,” Chaudhari said after the win.
She highlighted Ahlawat’s response in a final that remained close through the finish. “The first set I was 5-3 up and she kept fighting. Even the second set, I was 5-3 up and she kept fighting till the end. It was a great and a close match.”
The win placed Chaudhari alongside her previous Fenesta Open triumphs from 2022 and 2024, making this her third championship at the event.
Kesharwani’s men’s final followed a different pattern at the start. He won the first six games to take the opening set 6-0, then navigated a more competitive second set against Sinha. The decisive moment came when Kesharwani broke serve at 3-2 before holding his own serve through the remainder of the match.
The sixth seed completed the 6-0, 6-4 win in one hour and 37 minutes. “The first set was easy. But I’ll congratulate my opponent,” Kesharwani said.
He added that the second set became more difficult before the break at 3-2 gave him the chance to finish the match. “In the second set, it was a little bit shaky. But at 3-2, I broke him and then I was just holding my serves and I won.”
Maiden title and junior champions decided
For Kesharwani, the title represented a notable turnaround at the tournament. “This is my first Fenesta title. Since the last 4 years, I was losing first round in every Fenesta Open. This time I directly made the finals and won. I’m very emotional. I don’t know how to express it in words but I’m so happy,” he said.
The junior singles titles were also decided in New Delhi. Sixteen-year-old Ribhav Saroha, the 10th seed, defeated fourth seed Om Ramesh Patel 6-4, 6-3 to win the boys’ U-18 singles title.
Saroha said he entered the match knowing the head-to-head between the pair stood at 3-3. He said he needed to be consistent and aggressive against an opponent he described as someone who does not miss many balls.
In the girls’ U-18 singles final, second seed Parthsarthi Mundhe beat seventh seed Aahan Aahan 6-3, 6-4. Mundhe said the match featured long rallies and described the event as her first tournament after five months.
The trophies were presented at the ceremony attended by Delhi Lawn Tennis Association president Rohit Rajpal, Fenesta Building Systems executive director and business head Saket Jain, hockey player Jugraj Singh, and four-time Fenesta Open champion Prerna Bhambri.
